Weekend RoundupBy Jeroen Roding on 3/05/2014 11:42:43 PM
It is the end of the week and we have another roundup for you! What happened this week? There was an official Japan tournament, we talked about our beloved M82, we made a change on the M82, there is an US only Mercenary Botzone competition running, improved our online experience and there is the weekend challenge. It was a busy week!
Official Japan Killzone Shadow Fall Tournament
From 25th until the 29th of April the Official Japan Killzone Shadow Fall Tournament was held and the semi-final and finals could be watched live on Ustream. Only one person could crown himself winner and he listens to the name of: strifebeast.
In case you are interested in the event you can watch it below.
OUR FAN FAVORITE M82
We did a lot for our beloved M82. First of all, our art director Roy Postma and producer Poria Torkan talked about the history behind the gun, which you can see below.
Secondly we implemented a request from the community to change the M82 in ADS a little bit. You can read the entire story here.
KILLZONE MERCENARY BOTZONE COMPETITION
Together with PlayStation America we are holding a contest for new bot names for our Botzone Soldier Training database. You can have your bot name etched in history as a bot for future soldiers to train from. If you believe you have what it takes to stealthily defeat your enemy or lead your squad to victory in online warfare, then we want to hear from you! For more info please check here.
IMPROVING THE ONLINE EXPERIENCE
We rolled out a Warzone menu change which will give the community much more clarity and will offer them much more variation while enjoying Killzone online. Apart from that we made changes to the weapon balancing and improved the visibility of the Petrusite Grenade. All changes can be read here.
Get hacking during Weekend Challenge #16 'Hack that Beacon'.
Hack as many Spawn Beacons as possible on the 24 Player Warzone and you could become a Hall of Famer!
You need to play a minimum of one hour in 24 Player Warzone to qualify for this challenge. The challenge will run from Friday night, 23:59 GMT to Sunday night, 0:00 GMT.
The top ten list will be announced on Monday and featured on our Hall of Fame.
This is all for now, good luck with the weekend challenge and we will be seeing you online!
